Community garage sale planned Sept. 12

The Albany Chamber of Commerce annual garage sale will take place on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Chamber manager Mary Beth Jones said participants can register to get on the map between Aug. 24 and Sept. 1.

The signup fee to register a garage sale, be included on the map, and receive a paper sign will be $10.

“Signs do not need to be returned this year so the deposit cost has been removed from the $25 fee of last year,” Jones said.

Jones explained once registered and paid in full, a sign will be printed with the name and address of the participant.

Free maps will be printed and available on the day of the sale.

Jones added she will open the Chamber office from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. on the day of the garage sale to hand out maps.

“After 10:00 a.m., maps will be left at the door for shoppers to pick up,” she said. “No one will be at the office before 7:00 a.m. for early birds.”

Traditionally the Chamber sponsors the city-wide garage sale on the second Saturday in September.
