Throughout the pandemic shutdown, many organizations have been impacted, including Albany clothing ministry Closet Angels.

Donors and shoppers will be able to resume exchanging treasures when Closet Angels reopens, by appointment only, on Monday, June 1.

Closet Angels director Lori Reames said that to start out, shopping by appointment will be available each Monday in June.

“To accommodate more shoppers, there will be a time limit of 30 minutes for each appointment,” Reames said.

She explained that there will be limited staff working so just 10 or fewer family members can be accommodated during each appointment time with a minimum age of 12 for children.

“I will be reaching out to summer camp organizers and large families to ensure their swimwear and summer wardrobe is met,” Reames said.

Reames added that Closest Angels will start receiving donations again on Monday, June 1.

Items can be placed in the blue box at the rear of the building, and donations can be taken any day of the week.

“Current season items are preferred,” Reames said. “Summer clothes are needed and there is not space for winter items that are bulky.”

Reames said she is not yet ready to open full time. The next step will be determined by how June 1 goes, she said.
