Closet Angels to give gift cards

Closet Angels invites people to come and save money on their back to school clothes shopping, as well as sign up for a chance to win one of two gift cards.

A special invitation is being extended to local educators as the ministry tries to build a stronger relationship with the Albany and Moran school staffs.

“We just feel that teachers are usually aware of any special needs of their students, and perhaps if they know what we have here, they will be able to better take care of those needs,” said Closet Angels director Lori Reames.

She explained that teachers who visit Closet Angels before closing time next Wednesday, Aug. 15 will have their names entered in a drawing for $50 in cash.

“The winner can use this to offset what they spend on classroom supplies or for whatever they choose,” said Reames.

The local facility will be open this Saturday, Aug. 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, Aug. 15 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.

Closet Angels is located at 132 S. Jacobs Street, across from Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Reames also asked that families bring their clothing donations as soon as possible, with gently used shoes in a clear plastic bag so they can be made available immediately.
