Churches add activities

With school starting soon, local churches are getting back to Sunday school and other regular church activities suspended during the summer break and COVID-19 restrictions.
Albany United
Methodist Church
Adult and children Sunday school classes got back underway last Sunday.
Breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. followed by Sunday school at 10:00 a.m. and worship at 11:00 a.m.
Sunday, Aug. 9, UMC will have a baptismal service at the Stasney’s Cook Ranch Headquarters.
Breakfast will be at 8:45 a.m., followed by the worship service and baptism at 9:00 a.m..
The baptism service will be in place of the regular worship service at church.
Breakfast and the service will be outside.
Members are encouraged to dress comfortably and prepare accordingly.
United
Pentecostal Church
In lieu of UPC’s annual back to school bash, gift cards will be given to students.
More details to follow at a later date.
Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church
Sunday school for all age groups will begin Sunday, Aug. 16 at 10:00 a.m.
Courtney Clegg is in charge of the nursery through sixth grade, Spencer Newsom is the youth director for seventh through 12th grades, and Paul Hamilton coordinates the adult classes.
Sunday worship is at 11:00 a.m.
Friendship
Baptist Church
Sunday school classes will continue to meet at 9:50 a.m., followed by the worship service at 10:55 a.m.
Youth meet on Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m.
Albany
First Baptist Church
Sunday school continues this week at 9:30 a.m. after beginning last Sunday for all ages.
They finished up their summer activities with a church-wide evening at the city pool last Sunday night.
