There will be no Chamber of Commerce lunch this Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day weekend.

Chamber manager Mary Beth Jones said the Chamber lunches will begin again at the Icehouse on Friday, July10 at 12:00 noon.

“The Chamber is waiting on more rulings from Governor Abbott, but we plan to vote at the July 10 lunch to see how everyone feels about meeting for lunch the next week,” Jones said.

She added that the Chamber members will continue to vote on a week-to-week basis about the next lunch starting with the July 10 meeting.

“We will follow the governor’s advice if we start having more cases in Albany,” she said.

Other regular Chamber meetings will not take place during the month of July.

“Traditionally, merchant and board meetings are removed from the calendar during this month each year,” Jones explained.

The Chamber office will be closed from Friday, July 3 through Tuesday, July 7.

The office is located at 2 Railroad Street and is typically open Tuesday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The office number is 325-762-2525.
