Camp Jam, organized by First Baptist Church, will begin Thursday, July 16 and end Sunday, July 19.

The Disciple Now style camp is for campers going into eighth through 12th grades.

FBC youth minister Campbell Terry said the three-and-a-half day camp will have a Space JAM theme.

At press time on Tuesday, there were four or five camper spots still available, but registration will close Thursday, July 2.

“When these spots are filled, we will have met max capacity,” Terry said.

He also said the camp is one leader and one house short, and he is looking for volunteers.

Precautions are being made to keep all leaders and campers healthy.

“Each house will be disinfected, neat, and ready for the campers,” Terry said. “When the groups meet together in the church sanctuary, the same rules that apply during Sunday worship will be followed.”

Terry said the hope is for the campers to experience God in a way they never have before and to have fun.

“These kids have been cooped up, and we want to provide them with lots of activities,” Terry said. “The groups will participate in knocker ball, dodge ball, fishing, a clay pigeon shoot, and swimming at Lueders.”

One last precaution to prepare for Camp Jam is to check in with each camper that has registered to make sure they are all fever free and feeling well.
