A raffle and a brisket plate fundraiser have been arranged at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 21 to benefit local resident Kristi Brooker.

Brooker, who is fighting Stage Four breast cancer, has been a long-time supporter of the community and continues to serve as a volunteer firefighter.

The brisket plate fundraiser will be held at the Bank Park and will include brisket, beans, and potato salad.

The cost is a suggested donation of $10 per plate and all meals will be served ‘to-go’ starting at 11:00 a.m.

Whole, cooked briskets also can be pre-ordered.

Raffle tickets are also currently being sold for a JTS X12PT 12 gauge pump action shotgun with a 4+1 chamber and a pictanny rail, with a second raffle for a GPS series Range Handgunner backpack.

The shotgun retails for $259.99 and the backpack sells for $75.

Tickets for these items are $5 each or five tickets for $20.

The drawing will be held during the brisket fundraiser and participants do not have to be present to win.

All proceeds from the fundraiser and raffle will go toward helping Brooker maintain her health insurance and cover her medical bills.
