The annual membership meeting of the Albany Chamber of Commerce, including election of directors, will take place at the Chamber’s noon meeting on Friday, Feb. 8 at the Beehive.

Each year, several of the board members’ terms come up for election on a rotating basis, and the new directors are chosen at the annual membership meeting, traditionally on the first Friday in February, according to Chamber manager Mary Beth Jones.

However, because of a conflict with the county stock show, the meeting was delayed until the second Friday.

Nominations for board directors will be submitted by a nomination committee. Nominations are also accepted from the floor.

The Chamber members then elect directors to fill the openings.

All members of the organization are invited and encouraged to attend the luncheon.

The current directors and the newly elected board members will choose officers at a directors meeting to be held later in the month.

Jones also mentioned that the Chamber is planning a special membership event in March, with more details to be available later.

She added that the board hopes to get more families involved as Chamber members, not just businesses.
