The Albany Ministerial Alliance spent almost $12,000 in support of various local needs by the end of 2018.

“We believe that all these expenditures help make Albany a better place for everyone in the community,” said Alliance treasurer Carolyn Waller. “And we would like to thank all whose generous contributions make these things possible.”

The annual total of $11,095.47 is very similar to the amount spent the previous year.

Total donations for 2018 were $12,272, said Waller.

The Alliance gave $1,500 to ResourceCare for summer camp expenses and other programs.

A donation to the Open Door for a mobile unit that visits Albany totaled $500.

Travelers through Albany received meal and gasoline vouchers totaling $525, and motel expenses for indigent travelers totaled $952.

Another $200 was given to support Project Graduation last spring.

Expenses for the purchase of Bibles for the jail ministry and an FCA kick-off earlier in the year took $1,261 of the Allicance budget.

Another expense in the food category was $1,279 to support the school Backpack Program, which provides healthy food for Albany school children on the weekend, and also a small amount for the Bethel Food Bank, which closed in 2018.

The total for the Christmas baskets program was $2,576.
