The sun was out and the temperature was pleasant,  providing a perfect environment for an outdoor concert Sunday night.

The Albany Ministerial Alliance sponsored Indie folk rock band Dawson Hollow at the Bank Park, free to the public.

AMA president Jeff Turner said organizers were pleased with the response and the turnout.

Turner said that he did a head count at one point and thought they had about 130-150 in attendance.

Free hot dogs were provided, and Turner said they ran out and had to go get more to feed everyone in attendance.

“We were just tickled that the community came out and that they enjoyed the music,” Turner said. “This band did a great job of entertaining folks.”

Turner said several people didn’t know the concert was being sponsored by AMA and expressed appreciation for the event.

“We, as the AMA, really want to bless the community and show everyone that the churches care,” he said. “The local churches love this city and the people, regardless of whether they come to one of our churches or not. Of course, we’d love for people to attend our services, but this was about getting out and being a part of our town.”

Turner said the AMA will be working on another event in the near future.
