Community Vacation Bible School 2020, with a theme of Concrete and Cranes, will begin Sunday, July 24 and continue through Wednesday, July 29 at First Baptist Church Albany.

The summer event is sponsored by the Albany Ministerial Alliance.

Sunday through Tuesday, VBS will begin with a 5:00 p.m. dinner in the church fellowship hall followed by VBS at 5:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.

“Family Night” will be the last night of VBS on Wednesday at the city pool, starting with a program at 6:30 p.m.

VBS co-director Ginger Bumguardner said the last night will be an opportunity for families to watch the children perform what was learned at VBS.

Bumguardner added that in addition to the performance, a free hot dog supper will be provided and then swimming until 9:00 p.m.

Community VBS is for children turning four years old by Sept. 1 through those who have completed sixth grade.

Children attending VBS who need transportation to FBC can call Carolyn Waller at the FBC office 325-762-2019.

Parents with questions regarding VBS can call Bumguardner at 325-660-5420 or codirector Betsy Spraberry at 325-660-1516.

Bumguardner said Community VBS will also be a part of ResourceCare’s Summer Day Camp rotation during one of the three weeks.

Content covered during the evening Community VBS and during day camp will be different, she said.
