This story was submitted by a student in response to last week’s Kids Corner Junior Journalist prompt, which challenged young writers to imagine a news article for the Albany News.

A strange event happened at Fort Griffin in Albany Texas Friday evening. Campers reported seeing strange lights appear in the sky. The next day the workers at the fort reported seeing footprints in front of the park.

All the residents have theories of what it was, but scientists think it was just natural. Not everyone believes the scientists because they have never seen anything like this before.

Everyone is wondering why they have Fort Griffin restricted from the public for something that happened because of “nature”.

An eyewitness from Fort Griffin reported.”I was camping at Fort Griffin and I went outside and I saw a strange disc and lights in the sky,” said J.T. Bowman. “I thought I was dreaming at first, but then my wife, Brooke, came out to see what was taking me so long, and saw them also.” “I have never been so scared in my life,” reported Brooke. “I told JT we needed to pack our bags and get back to town. We were out of there in 5 minutes!”

Local law enforcement have no comment at this time about the strange lights.
