Four Albany junior high one-act play members received individual awards at the District 8-AA competition last Thursday, Nov. 15 in Albany.

Ella Webb won a place on the district All-Star Cast again this year.

Keatin Russell was given the Technical Award.

Briley Tabor was again named honorable mention All-Star Cast, and London Fuentes was also listed to the honorable mention All-Star Cast.

Albany’s contest play was Antic Spring, a one-act comedy by Robert Nail that follows a group of youth on a picnic outing.

“We didn’t place,” said director Jenny Scott, “but I was extremely proud of the kids and their performance onstage!”

Cast members included Ella Webb – Ginger, Briley Tabor – Blossom, London Fuentes – Elbert, Caden Price – Sam, Cole Chapman – Robert, and Chelsy Parsons – Gwendolyn.

Alternates were Melissa Olivarez, Andrew Leverton, Chloe Broadus, and Ashley Richards.

Crew members were Keatin Russell, Leddie Leech, Brooke Kayga, Gracie Price, and Presley Green.

Roscoe won the district contest, followed by Stamford in second place and Hawley in third.

Junior high plays do not advance from district competition.

Because of the busy holiday season, there will not be a public presentation of the play.
