AISD Christmas break to begin Friday at noon

Students at the Albany Independent School District will be released for the day at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, and will break for the Christmas holidays at noon this Friday, Dec. 21.

The district will be closed for the winter break from Monday, Dec. 24 through Friday, Jan. 4.

A staff development day is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 7, and classes will resume at the normal times on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Semester finals are continuing through this Friday at the secondary campus.

High school students must sign in at the school office by 10:00 each day if they are except from class. Junior high students are not except from school.

Exams planned for this Thursday are fourth period final at 8:40 a.m., fifth period final at 10:10 a.m., and sixth period final at 12:10 p.m. 

Students will be released for the day at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20.

End of semester exams for periods seven and eight are scheduled on Friday at 8:40 a.m. and 10:10 a.m. respectively.

The secondary campus will release for the holidays at 12:05 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21.

NSES

Elementary students will be released for the day at 1:30 p.m. this Thursday.

On Friday, Dec. 21, parents are invited to join the students at 8:45 a.m. in the school cafeteria for the annual Christmas Sing-a-long.

An early release lunch schedule will be followed on Friday, Dec. 21 before students are released for Christmas vacation at 12:00 noon. 

Spring Schedule

Classes will resume for the spring semester at the normal time on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

The next scheduled break in the AISD school year will be on Friday, Feb. 1 with a student holiday and staff comp day for the county livestock show.

A second student holiday and staff comp day will take place in February on Presidents’ Day, Monday, Feb. 18. 

AISD will close over spring break, March 11-15. Students will be off Good Friday, April 19.

Inclement weather days are scheduled on Monday, April 22, and Friday, May 10.

The spring semester ends at noon on Wednesday, May 22, and graduation is set for Friday, May 24.
