Depending on the weather, this week’s Fifth Quarter fellowship will be held at the home of Ricky and DeVona Davis on Hwy. 6 Friday night, Nov. 1, following the Albany-Haskell football game.

First Baptist Church will host this week and will be serving hot dogs, s’mores, and water, according to youth minister Campbell Terry.

“Because of the conditions and the burn ban, we are not having a bonfire, but we will have fire pits to roast marshmallows,” said Terry.

If the weather is too cold or wet, the event will be moved to the Feed Store.

“We will just move the party there, including the fire pits,” said Terry.

A dodge ball tournament is also planned if the weather holds.

Secondary students will learn at school that day whether the fifth quarter will be held at the Davises or the Feed Store, and it will also be announced during the game.

The party concludes a series of fellowships hosted by local churches after home football games. All Albany junior high and high school students are invited to attend.

The event will end at 12:00 midnight, so parents are asked to pick up their non-driving students at or before that time.
