The Feed Store will conduct its first Fifth Quarter gathering for local youth following the conclusion of the Albany Lions’ home opener Friday, Sept. 1.

The postgame events are sponsored by the Albany Ministerial Alliance and are open to all junior high and high school students. The gatherings will run from the end of each game until 11:00 p.m.

“Everything’s the same as last year,” Feed Store executive director Tisha Wilkins said. “Junior high and high school students will meet at The Feed Store until 11:00.”

The Church of Christ, Maranatha Fellowship and Jesus of Nazareth Catholic Church will serve students following Albany’s home opener against Dublin. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

“Come have fellowship and fun,” Wilkins said.

Wilkins said the postgame gathering is the next step in getting started on activities for a new school year. The Feed Store held its second Tuesday lunch for high school juniors and seniors this week.

“Things are going good,” she said. “We’re looking forward to a great year.”

The second Fifth Quarter will be Friday, Sept. 8, following the game against Seymour. Albany won’t play another home game until Oct. 6, when Miles visits.
