41 teams play in golf tourney

The team of Terrell and Stegall won the Championship Flight at the annual Albany Labor Day Golf Tournament with a two day total of 124 strokes, followed by Windsor and Windsor in second with 125, and Rincon and Rincon with a score of 126 for third place.

Eighty-two players, grouped into 41 teams of two players each, ended up competing. 

Scores from Saturday’s rounds were used to divide the teams into four flights on Sunday.

The second and third flights teed off on Sunday morning, and the first flight and Championship flight were scheduled to take place Sunday afternoon.

Upcoming events at the golf club include the Wednesday golf scrambles that start at 5:30 p.m. each week through the fall. Entry fees for the scrambles are $10 for club members and $15 for non-members.

The annual Kiwanis tournament is coming up at the local course on Sept. 27.

The club championship is expected to take place in late October, but the date has not yet been finalized.

1. Terrell and Stegall (124), 2. Windsor and Windsor (125), 3. Rincon and Rincon (126).

First Flight

1. Barrett and Walker (133), 2. (tie) Hall and Hall (134), 2. (tie) Nail and Nail (134).

Second Flight

1. Holson and Williamson (139), 2. Little and Turner (140), 3. Ivy and Pate (142). 

Third Flight

1. Sargent and Riley (145), 2. Montgomery and West (147), 3. Montes and Brazez (148).
