Co-organizer James Breeden (above, l) and his daughter Kayla Herron (r), regular participants in the MMPC’s annual Christmas Day Feast, sack up meals to go. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Justin Trail (at left) and other volunteeers carve the turkey and get other components of the meal ready.

Christmas Day meal

Approximately 125 meals were served by volunteers from Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church and the rest of the community as part of the annual MMPC Christmas Feast.

The total was a slight increase over the 110 or so meals served the year before.

“We had another good year,” event organizer James Breeden said. “It was a great success.”

This Christmas, the meals were only offered on a carry-out basis with everything either delivered or picked up.

In past years, meals have been delivered to Vittles by Vehicles recipients, first responders and others workingonChristmasDay.

This was the 15th year for the Feast, which provides free holiday meals with all the trimmings. The Christmas Feast is a project of MMPC’s missions and evangelism team.

“Hats off to everyone who showed up and volunteered,” Breeden said. “We had all hands on deck, andeverythingwentgreat. We’ll see them again next year.”
