Albany ISD trustees passed a budget for the 2024-2025 school year during a special early morning sessiononAug.29,meeting therequiredstatedeadline. They also okayed the proposed tax rate of 70.66 cents cents per $100 valuation, including the state-allowed “fivegoldenpennies.” Total expenditures budget are projected at $7,306,029,whilerevenues are listed at $6,651,775, a difference of $654,254.
2024 hunting season starts with a bang
Despite periods of much needed rain, the opening of dove season on Sunday was far from a washout, with reports of a banner year for dove hunting so far. “The number of birds was really good on opening day,” said game warden Jacob Mort.
