CareFest, Resource Care’s annual musical event, in its sixth year, is taking place on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Happy Wives, HappyLivesWeddingand Event Venue.

The Cubs Cheer Camp is scheduled for Monday-Wednesday, July 29-31. Camp sessions will be held 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Donald “Don” Gene Clevenger, former longtime Albany pastor, went home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2024. Don was born on April 6, 1959, in Pratt, Kansas, the son of Dallas and Carol Prather Clevenger, stepmotherCharleneClevenger.

From her birth, Mary Catherine Tidwell was beautiful and spirited. Born to Don and Margie Tidwell on Sept. 19, 1989 in Abilene, Texas, she arrived with the spirit that would mark all her days. Demandinganemergency C-section to bring her into the light, she let it be known that she would always be a force to be reckoned with. Blessed with two adoring older brothers,SamandJoe,she gave notice that she was the queen of her world and wouldn’t take any of their nonsense and learned as she grew just how to work those big boys and their friends.

Registration for all Albany ISD students will open a little later than in previous years, according the Leigh Lowe, director of student services. Lowe said she hopes to have online registration open late next week, with in-person registration available at the high school campus for all grades on Aug.

ResourceCare Summer Day Camp ends Friday after two weeks of fun in the sun, arts and crafts, and several other activities. Monday began with a one-day VBS at Albany Church of Christ where campers studied the story of “Daniel and the Lions Den,” and then constructed their own take-home “Lion.”LaterMondayafternoon, campersweretreated to a movie at the Aztec.
