After several game cancellations and delays, photos of all spring youth league teams have been completed by the Albany News staff. All-starandtournament teams might be taken over the next few weeks, but all regular groups of softball, t-ball, coach pitch, intermediate, andLittleLeague teams are completed.

Summer sports camps finish with volleyball

Monday-Tuesday The Albany Volleyball Camp is scheduled for Monday-Tuesday, June 10-11 at the Albany gym, wrapping up a run of summer sports camps conducted by Albany coaches for local youth. Previous events have been the Albany Lions and Lady Lions All-Sports Camp and theAlbany Basketball Camp since school dismissed for the summer.

Seven Albany High School graduates will make one more appearance as high school athletes duringthe2024Big Country FCA All-Star Festival. The festival – which started Wednesday, June 5 and runs through Saturday, June 15 – features more than 350 of the area’s top studentathletes competing in six sports in three cities.

Little League all-stars to begin play

Albany finished fourth Saturday, June 1 in the B Bracket of the Texas West District 5 8U machinepitch tournament at the Albany Little League complex. Albany, which finished 1-2 in the tournament, lost in the first round 14-3 to Jim Ned, beat Breckenridge 9-4 in an elimination game, then lost 12-2 to Abilene Legacy.

Shackelford County Library’s annual story hour began Tuesday and will continue every Tuesday until June 25. The Shackelford 150 committee is accepting nominations for a king andqueentobepresented on a float in the annual Fandangle Parade on Saturday, June 22 in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the county in 1874.
