Wind farm settlement finalized

An agreement has been reached and final judgment issued in a lawsuit by the Hackberry Wind Farm seeking a reduction in property taxes assessed for 2022 and 2023, according to the Shackelford County Appraisal District’s chief appraiser Clayton Snyder. The agreement, which was presented to the wind farm by the appraisial district, reduced the assessed value of the wind farm by 10.44 percent for 2022 and 22.22 percent for 2023.
