Friday, Aug. 1 is the final day for parents to sign up their children for the annual Adopt-a-Buddy school supply program sponsored by Resource Care, and applications are available at the front desk of the Resource Center.

According to Resource Care case worker Makenzie Marshall, the forms should be returned to the same location by the end of the work day this Friday.

The program is not limited to elementary students. Junior high and high school students can also qualify.

Older students will receive basic paper, spiral notebooks, pens, pencils, and highlighters, while elementary participants will also be given crayons and backpacks.

Local residents are encouraged to donate new school supplies and backpacks or make mone-tary donations to benefit the program before the end of this week, so that staff members can organize and purchase needed supplies before the scheduled distribution day.

Distribution is set for 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 5-6 at the Youth Center.

More information is available by calling the Resource Center at 325-762-2447.

Contributions can be sent to ATTN Adopt A Buddy, PO Box 2435, Albany TX 76430, or  they can be dropped off at the ResourceCare office, 725 Pate Street.
