2023 seniors face full schedule

Members of the Albany High School Class of 2023 face a full schedule over the next three weeks with activities planned during the runup to graduation.
Albany will hold commencement ceremonies Friday, May, 26.
Photographs have already been turned in for the senior slide show, and one baby picture per senior should also be delivered to The Albany News for the annual graduation section.
•Pictures and bio information from each of the seniors needs to be turned in to The Albany News by Friday, May 4.
•All seniors and the six junior ushers need to return Project Graduation forms to the school office by Monday, May 15, in order to attend the all-night party.
•Caps and gowns will be delivered to seniors Friday, May 19. National Honor Society and FFA sashes, blood donation cords and valedictorian and salutatorian collars will be loaned from the high school and given to the graduates before Baccalaureate and graduation ceremonies.
•Members of the senior class will meet at the high school gym parking lot at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20 to ride a bus to the Progressive Dinner.
•First Baptist Church’s Senior Bible presentation will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21 at the church. Afterwards, a Coke float reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall.
•The Baccalaureate ceremony will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the high school auditorium.
•Graduation practice will be held at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, May 25 in the Albany High School gymnasium. Pictures will be taken at that time. Seniors should bring caps, gowns, and tassels to the practice. Stoles will be passed out.
•Graduation will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, in the gymnasium.
•A reception honoring graduates will be held following the ceremony at the Whitney Theatre.
•Project Graduation will begin at 10:30 p.m. that night with all graduates and junior ushers checking in at the high school. The seniors voted earlier in the semester to stay in town, with activities taking place at various Albany locations. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the night. The all-night party will finish up at the gym at 5:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27.
Project Grad Raffle
Approximately 150 tickets have been sold for a Sony PlayStation 5 gaming console that will benefit Project Graduation.
Tickets for the console, which retails at $499.99, are one for $5 or five for $20. The prize drawing will be held Monday, May 8. To purchase tickets, contact Amanda Tabor at 325-762-0320.
