First Christian Church and Beltway East are hosting “Fifth Quarter” this Friday, Sept. 14 after the end of the Lions’ varsity football game against the Eastland Mavericks.

Albany runners have competed in their first two cross country meets of the season, with a couple of competitors medaling in the junior high boys division.
The Lady Cubs opened the season at home on Monday, with the A teams splitting games with Abilene Christian Middle Schools.
The junior high football teams both started the season well last Thursday with wins over visiting Dublin teams.
The JV Lions blanked the visiting Dublin -Lions, 32-0, in the home opener for Albany’s JV last Thursday at Robert Nail Stadium.
