Shackelford County residentswhohaven’tyet registered to vote have until April 4 to sign up if they want to participate in the Albany Independent School District trusteeelectiononMay4.

Voter registration applications can be found online at votetexas.gov or filled out in person at the Voter Registrationoffice at the Shackelford County Courthouse.

Voterswhoarealready registered and wish to request a ballot by mail for the May 4 election can fill out an application thatisontheShackelford County website at www. shackelfordcounty.org or by contacting Lynsi Musselman intheAlbanyISD superintendent’s office at 325-762-2823.

The request must be received at the school office by April 23.

All voting for the election will be held in the administration building adjacent to the tennis courts at 501 E.S. 1st St.

Voters 65 or over who have already applied for an annual ballot will automatically be sent a mail ballot, and they will receive one for each election conducted in Shackelford County for the rest of the year, including the general election in November.

The AISD election, which will decide between incumbent Bo Brown and challenger Reggy Spencer for the Place 3 seat, is the only one being conducted this spring.

Kalico Leech is unopposed for theAlbany ISD Place 4 seat.

The other five entities in the county, including the City of Albany, City of Moran, Moran ISD,ShackelfordCounty Hospital District, and Fort Griffin SUD, have cancelled their elections because there are no contested races.

Early voting for the AISDelectionwillbeheld in the administrative office from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m Monday, April 22 to Friday,April 26 and again Monday-Tuesday, April 29-30.

Voting on the regular election day, May 4, will be held in the same location from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
