I-20 accident leaves 1 dead

An Albany company vehicle and a local man were involved in an Interstate 20 accident near “Ranger Hill” in Eastland County that killed a Breckenridge man on Monday, Oct. 24 about 3:15 p.m.

Christopher Lawren Whitehead, 45, of Breckenridge was pronounced dead at the scene after the pickup he was driving hydroplaned on the wet roadway, crossed the median, and struck a truck and trailer.

Brandon Roysdon of Albany, who was a passenger in the pickup, was treated and released from Eastland Memorial Hospital.

Both of the men, along with the driver of the truck, were wearing seat belts.

According to DPS Sergeat Fred Biddle, the 2014 Ford pickup, which belongs to API of Albany, was traveling east while the tractor-trailer rig was traveling west.

The truck driver, Mario Antonio Bonilla of Dallas, was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Stephenville with serious injuries.
