Cast prepares for April 20 Sampler
Rehearsals for the 2024 edition of the Ft. Griffin Fandangle are underway at the Prairie Theater in preparation for the Membership Sampler set for Saturday, April 20 at Collins Creek Ranch.
Practices Are Continuing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 6:30 p.m. for the cast and crew of the Sampler, which is a preview of the summer performances in June.
“Rehearsalsarecontinuing to be great,” artistic director Lorna Ayers said. “I’m really impressed with how engaged thecastisand howfasttheyarepickingup on the music for this year. Many of the songs haven’t been performed in a long time, so they are ‘new’ to most of the cast.”
Ayers said that the earlier start time of 6:30 p.m. for practices this season has been a hit.
“It is so nice to be finished with rehearsals and there is still some daylight,” she said. “Everyone seems to like it.”
Any cast or crew members who haven’t signed up for the new Remind app account really need it to keep up with the schedule.
“Getting everyone to sign up on Remind again this year has been slow,” Ayers said. “We had to change our account name, which means that everyone needs to sign up again.”
She stressed that signing up is important to get the text reminders about rehearsals or any changes to the schedule. There are about 100 fewer phone numbers registered this year compared to last year.
Anyone wanting to join in order to receive information and reminders about rehearsals can text 81010 withthemessage@fandang included. If successfully sent, the new member will receive a confirmation text.
Ayers also asked that anyone planning to be a young rider in the show contact Lee Burton or Matt Bellah.
“We will also be posting consent forms on the cast portion of the website that must be signed by a parent for all students even through high school age,” she said.
