Plans for the 150th anniversary of the founding of Shackelford County are being formulated by a special Sesquicentennial Committee of the Chamber of Commerce. The group is headed by David Waller, chair of the committee, along with several other community leaders.

The 2024 Shackelford Youth and Livestock Show endured a cold snap with relative ease thanks to renovations made to the county show barn. The show, which concluded its threeday run Saturday, Jan.
